RE Engineering was started by Gary Rich and Steve Elligson in July 2013. The company was incorporated on July 24, 2013 to provide a high quality professional engineering services from a small firm with personalized attention to client and project needs. Steve and I had worked together for over 30 years at other engineering firms together and joint ventured projects so continuing to work together under a single company was a natural progression. Our client contacts over that time frame respected our individual attention to detail and provided us with an initial client base to support our new endeavor. As the old saying says, so far so good…

Our base office was located at 1927 Surf Circle , Pasadena, Maryland with our secondary office located at 3902 Hoffmanville Road, Manchester, Maryland. In 2019 the Pasadena Maryland Top Company organization recognized RE Engineering and presented us with the 2019 Engineer Award. We maintained this status for 2020 and 2021 which qualified us for the 2021 Pasadena Business Hall of Fame.

RE Engineering primarily provides design of electrical systems and dry utility site infrastructure coordination, and in specialized applications can provide mechanical and plumbing design support. This includes but is not limited to inspections of existing facilities, Code compliance inspections, preliminary reports and calculations, preparation of construction documents and construction administrative services. We work primarily with architects and civil engineers but also work directly with other consultants, developers, owners and design-build with electrical contractors.

RE Engineering, LLC is currently registered to provide engineering services in 14 states and the District of Columbia. We have retired registrations in 22 states where we are no longer providing engineering services. Please contact us if further clarification is required.

We relocated our offices in October 2022 to 401 Bold Ruler Court, Unit 301, Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Gary T. Rich, PE

University of Maryland, College Park graduate in 1973 with a major in Electrical Engineering and minor in Fire Protection Engineering. Previous employment positions include Project Engineer at Mueller Associates Inc., Associate at RMF Engineering, Inc., Electrical Vice President of Shefferman & Bigelson Company and Vice President – Chief Electrical Engineer at B&R Construction Services. Currently President of RE Engineering, LLC.

Work experience over the past 50 years has included a range of industrial, institutional, DOD, retail, educational, governmental, civil and power generation projects from dog houses to nuclear power plants.

Steven M. Elligson (1961-2018)

Previous employment include Project Engineer at Gipe Associates, Project Manager at RMF Engineering, Inc., Vice President at Moore-Lewis, Inc., Vice President – Head of Mechanical Engineering at B&R Construction Services and Principal – Head of Mechanical Engineering of RE Engineering, LLC.

This was an honest man, good business partner, and great friend. His word and a handshake were a contract. His loss cannot be described but we will ‘endeavor to persevere’ in his absence.
